Mayors and architects collaborate to find creative solutions

Civic I/O, the mayor’s summit at SXSW in Austin, hosted 40 mayors from 100 of the largest U.S. metro areas to talk about current pressing issues facing their cities. This year, the AIA brought architects to the table to partner with mayors and discuss creative solutions to the greatest challenges of our time. Equipped with design-thinking abilities and professional knowledge, architects can help to solve problems like, rising water, natural disasters, sustainability, and housing shortages.
